This week in books: Above Average.
Finished 4, including 1 in print
THE LAW OF SELF DEFENSE PRINCIPLES by Andrew Branca. Extremely well-done book, it flows like a flawless legal lecture ought to. I have a huge amount of respect for Branca, who I got introduced to while watching Rekieta’s coverage of the Rittenhouse trial in ‘21.
PHOENIX by Lori Janeski. I did a video review on YouTube and Rumble, check it out there.
SMOKE EATERS by Sean Grigsby. Cool premise, but very generic characters and I struggled to get into it. Thought it might give me a book to rec to my brother (a firefighter) but he’s already an extremely reluctant reader, he wouldn’t go for it.
And last of all…
TOMBSTONE by Tom Clavin. Got a whole video prepped up for this one. I talked about it on Radcracker last week. Learning the history versus the fiction was a good thing to do. Kind of bummed that Holladay didn’t actually kill Johnny Ringo like he did in the movie, but oh well, haha.
