Reading Recap, Week 51
I could have sworn I kept count better than this.
Audiobooks
I still need to do a review of THE WISE OF HEART by Hans Schantz, but I read it last week and it was really good. Got some critiques, but good overall. I’ll get you the details in that review.
JACOB T. MARLEY was a semi-re-read, turns out I didn’t finish this one when I started it in 2011. Very good tie-in with A Christmas Carol.
BEHEMOTH was another re-read, part of my effort to do a series recap on the Leviathan trilogy. I’m writing that right now and I’ll have it here once I read the third book again (Behemoth is the second.)
And I also re-read SPIRIT OF STEAMBOAT which I posted here as an audio review.
Print/Comics
I finally got around to reading the Absolute Superman books and those were really fantastic. Two issues in and this is a good take on the concept.
Transformers #15 offered more of the same, it felt like mostly a book that cleared stuff up with dialogue instead of advancing the story. I’d say 4 or 5 issues so far have been that way. The big reveal at the end was Bruticus showing up (he’s the silhouette on the cover, behind Optimus.)
This Week
I scratched two books that I thought I wanted to read, but realized I wasn’t looking forward to them. So now I’m reading a Warhammer40k novel and I have a few more on deck. Can’t remember which comics are coming this week but I think Redcoat or Geiger will be on the list.
