OTD in History: Graham came home!
Broooo it's been 20 years???
I looked up American historical events for October 10th, and while it was a big deal for Navy to formally establish its academy at Annapolis in 1845, I can probably cover that next year (if I keep doing this.)
For now, I celebrate October 10th as the day I came home from Spain and was released as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This picture is from 3 weeks later, actually—the day I spoke in Church about my time in the field.
A lot’s changed since then; my parents are divorced, my brother has remarried, my Grandpa and my sister have both passed away, and my wife and I have three kids. What hasn’t changed is my commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I’ve just spent the last twenty years learning how to improve my actions—sometimes I suck at it, because I’m a foolish and imprecise object, but when I slow down and focus and do what I know is right, instead of what I think I want, life is better for it.
I really need to get back to Spain. Gonna wait until the kids are old enough to come along, though.
Anyway. Thanks for reading.
